WAIT WHAT?! Gilmore Girls movie is in it’s final weeks of production?! I’ve been following the Gilmore Girls movie rumour for a while now but I seem to have missed that it’s been green lit and in production!!
(Matt talks about it at 6m 26secs in)
[UPDATE: Apparently it’s a lie, so mean I was super psyched. Urgh. I can’t stay mad at that pretty face though.]
You can also buy his book that he wrote with his brother about their childhood here.
Trailer for Rian Johnson’s (Brick) new film “Looper” is finally up. I cannot stress how much I’ve been looking forward to seeing this film. Challenging concept to visualise but by the looks of the trailer it’s been done incredibly well. Below is a link to the poster and a little tid bit from Joseph Gordon-Levitt about his Bruce Willis prosthetics.

I have a new essay available in the current* edition of Script Magazine.
Several years ago, my writing partner and I wrote a quaint, little videogame known as CALL OF DUTY 2: BIG RED ONE. It turns out, it was quite a hit and, before we knew it, our script had been nominated for the game developer’s equivalent of the Oscar. I made the trek to Las Vegas for the award ceremony, determined -quite simply- not to embarrass myself. Of course, if I’d succeeded, there wouldn’t be much of a story, would there? Check it out!

*Current and final edition? Yes, that’s right… Final Draft announced in December that this would be the final issue of Script Magazine - as the property had been purchased by F&W. I was saddened by this news. For five-plus years, I have been a Senior Writer for the magazine and I hope to see it re-emerge from this transition. In fact, it was my 2006 essay on videogame writing for CALL OF DUTY 2 that introduced me to the wonderful editors of Script. Should the magazine evaporate entirely, I will try to continue writing these essays, should people be interested.

This photo…just because…HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Last year my resolutions were simple to blog more and to make the blog more interactive, which in a small scale I did. But with the addition of the Posterous site, to act as a place for lengthier TV reviews and musings, the Tumblr site seems more formal and less personal as it’s kind of been relegated to TV news updates and photos. So for my New Years resolution is to change that. It’ll still have everything that it does now but with more frequent, shorter updates of my TV watching.
A quick note about the TV list I’ve been chipping away at, due to the sheer volume of brilliant new TV shows, watching the shows from the list has fallen by the wayside but as my second resolution I’ll be getting right back on it again.
